“Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit, and as vital to our lives as water and good bread. A civilization which destroys what little remains of the wild, the spare, the original, is cutting itself off from its origins and betraying the principle of civilization itself.”
Edward Abbey, Desert Solitaire

Carry in Carry Out

I have enjoyed the outdoors ever since I was a kid. My earliest experiences -weather it be hiking the Delaware Water Gap, snorkeling in Lake Hopatcong, or paddling the many lakes and rivers- the one constant from all of my outdoor mentors and fellow enthusiasts has always been LEAVE IT CLEANER THAN WHEN YOU FOUND IT.
That being a fundamental life lesson for me I believe it is up to all of us to do our part to keep our wild places cleaner than when we found it regardless of if we mad the mess or not.
If we all do our part to leave places cleaner than the way we found it/came across it then we will all enjoy a richer outdoor experience.
